USING INFOHOST FILE TRANSFER?
How big a file can I send?
This depends on the type of account you have. Special arrangements can be made to send any size of file up to 2 Gigabytes.
What Type of Files Can I Send?
You can send any type of files, but we would reccomend that you compress the files before sending them to reduce the time and network traffic. This will also help prevent data corruption which can sometimes happen during the transfer.
I need to upload big files - how do I create a zip file on Mac?
You can create ZIP compressed files from within Mac OS X (which will shrink the file size - smaller file sizes mean faster file transfers). To create a compressed file; either hold down the Control key and click on the file or folder and choose Create Archive.
I want to delete uploaded files from your server. How do I do this?
In order to delete files from our server, please follow the steps mentioned below:
- Login to your Infohost File Transfer account.
- Click "View Current Uploaded Files".
- Select the file and then click "Delete File" in the file options menu.
How do I register for your site?
Please go to http://www.Infohost.co.uk to register with Infohost File Transfer. We require a first name, last name, email, password, country, and primary usage. We do not sell your information to anyone and you control the type of marketing messages you would like to receive from us. After you complete the registration form, an activation email will be sent to the email address you provided. After you click on the confirmation link in that email, you'll be able to login to your account and start using our service.
How does usage limits on my Infohost File Transfer account work?
Your Infohost File Transfer account has a limit which you can choose. Once you reach this limit you can choose to increase your limit or delete some files which you have previously uploaded to free some space.
The Useage limit accounts are as follows:
- Lite User - 50 Megabytes
- Business User - 512 Megabytes
- Pro User - 2 Gigabyte
- Pay as you go - Up To 2 Gigabyte
What if I have exceeded or I am about to exceed my usage?
You can purchase additional usage at any time. Additional usage that you purchase is added immediately to your limit.
Infohost File Transfer account holders can also upgrade their accounts to increase their limit .
How can I see how much usage I have left?
Whenever you are logged in to Infohost File Transfer, a total useage is displayed on the top right of the screen.
Why does Infohost File Transfer have usage limits?
These limits are necessary to ensure the best experience for the entire Infohost File Transfer user base. The limits have been selected to enable most users to continue using Infohost File Transfer exactly as they have been.
Can I search all the files uploaded to Infohost File Transfer?
Yes, all the files uploaded to Infohost File Transfer are shown in your control panel..
Can I resend a file without having to upload it again?
Yes, once you have uploaded a file to the server, it is stored there until you delete it.
To send the file again carry out the following process:
- Log into your account
- Click "View current uploaded files"
- Select the file you want to resend
- Select "Send a link by email".
- Complete the form as required and click send.
The recipient will now receive an email with a link to download the file.
I would like to send more than one file at a time. Can I do this with Infohost File Transfer?
No, but you can do this by compressing multiple files using a file compresser like Winzip.
PASSWORD INFORMATION
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Click on the "Login" button, and then on the link that says "Forgot your password?" Follow the instructions to reset your password.
CANCELLATION
How do I cancel my account?
Login to your account and click on the "Close Account" Link.
UPLOAD
I am unable to upload my file even though I am within the limit allotted to my account. What should I do?
Please make sure that you are logged in to your account before you upload your file. To check your login status, look at the upper right hand part of your screen to see whether your name appears. If you don't see "Welcome, ", you are not logged in. Click on the "LOGIN" button and enter your email address and password.
ACCOUNT TYPES
What are the differences in the Infohost File Transfern system?
The 4 account types are:
- Pay as You Go
- Lite User
- Business User
- Pro User
Pay as you Go is designed for people who want to send one large file very occasionally.
Lite User is designed for those who want to send files of up to 50 Megabytes on a regular basis.
Business User is designed for the business market and allows files up to 512 Megabytes to be sent.
Pro User is designed for companies who want to send large files (Up to 2 Gigabytes) on a reglar basis.
How do I upgrade my account?
To upgrade from a Pay as You Go account to a paid account, simply login to your account, click on Account Details, and select the respective upgrade button from the Services matrix
How do I downgrade my account?
To downgrade from a paid account to a Pay As You Go account, login to your account and clicking on Account Details. Click on the provided link to downgrade your account. Your account will be downgraded at the end of your current pre-paid period.
PRIVACY/SECURITY
Does Infohost File Transfer sell my information?
No, Infohost File Transfer does not sell disclose your information to any other company.
Does Infohost File Transfer alter the content of a file upon upload?
No, we do not modify your file in anyway.

What browsers do you support for the Mac?
We support Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Do you support Macs?
Yes, we support and do testing with multiple operating systems including Mac OS X.
Does Infohost File Transfer support Pocket PC's, Palm, or Windows Mobile?
No, not at this time.
I'm using Mac OS 9 and IE 5 and I can't upload a file.
We currently do not support IE 5 on Mac OS 9. Microsoft has discontinued support for IE 5 on Mac OS 9. Apple has also ended support for Mac OS 9.
